Alt 98.7 Rocks the Holidays with ALTimate Rooftop Christmas Party

Los Angeles station 98.7 is throwing The ALTimate Rooftop Christmas Party, complete with acts ranging from Bush to current chart toppers Fitz and the Tantrums at the W in Hollywood on Dec. 8.

Going off a successful show in 2013, 98.7 is looking to outdo themselves in 2014. Last year they had Alt-J, AWOLNATION, Joan Jett, The Airborne Toxic Event and Silversun Pickups. This year the rock station stepped it up and went beyond getting Fitz and the Tantrums, The Neighbourhood, Bush, Glass Animals, Cold War Kids, BANKS and Robert DeLong for what promises to be an intimate affair.

Fitz and the Tantrums rose to fame in 2010 with hit singles like “Breakin’ the Chains of Love” and “L.O.V.” right now they’re still riding the waves of their 2013 release “More Than Just a Dream.” Much like them, The Neighbourhood also got an indie start rising quickly in popularity with their debut “I Love You” in 2013.

Glass Animals and BANKS are the fresh faces on the bill, having just released their full debut albums this year. Robert DeLong is another promising artist in the show who got his start as a drummer in various indie bands before heading out on his own in 2012.

While the show has some new talent, they have the artists who have been making noise for years now like Cold War Kids and Bush. Cold War Kids first stepped into the scene in 2006 with “Robbers & Cowards.” Currently on their sixth release, “Hold My Home,” the bands is still going strong. Music fans may know them due to their latest singles “A Million Eyes” and “All This Could Be Yours.” As for Bush, they are a band that usually needs no introduction. Led by Gavin Rossdale, Bush has been a major influence and noteworthy band for 20 years. Their debut, “Sixteen Stone” dropped two decades ago and they haven’t slowed down since. While they took a 10-year break from 2001 to 2011, they have made two albums since their return, including this year’s “Man on the Run.”

Located on Hollywood and Vine, the W Hotel is one of the newer additions to the infamous boulevard. Right across from the renowned Pantages Theatre, the W offers the obvious amenities one would expect from a hotel but then goes beyond to give patrons a well-rounded experience offering a variety of fine dining options and shows like The ALTimate Rooftop Christmas Party.

98.7’s The ALTimate Rooftop Christmas Party will be at the W Hotel in Hollywood on Dec. 8.
