Airborne Toxic Event Will Bring Their Indie Rock to Troubadour For a Good Cause

Back in 2008, The Airborne Toxic Event released their self-titled debut and it was only up from there. The band from Los Feliz, California won over critics and fans alike with songs like “Gasoline” and iTunes number one Alternative Song of the Year “Sometime Around Midnight.” With the success of their debut, they managed to travel the world. They toured near and far and released the highly anticipated “All at Once” in 2011.

They beat the sophomore slump charting at #17 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and #4 on the Alternative Chart. Between then and now, they dropped their third album and added a dash of sophistication to their already stellar sound by performing with both the Louisville Orchestra and the Colorado Symphony Orchestra.

Now the band is gearing up for their latest, “Dope Machine.” They released its lead single, “Wrong,” back in October on Radio 104.5 in Philadelphia. To keep the momentum going they’re not only playing shows here and there, but also playing The Troubadour on January 30 for a good cause; Songs for Kids Foundation Benefit.

All proceeds from the show will go towards the Songs for Kids Foundation. It’s a worthy cause that connects ill children with music. The non-profit works with kids and children’s hospitals to ensure the joy of music is in the lives of those who need it most. The organization does a number of great things like interactive concerts, bringing rock stars to the kids for bedside performances and putting on benefit shows featuring artists like The Airborne Toxic Event. Another wonderful part of their outreach is allowing kids to record their own music.

Airborne Toxic Event will have a benefit for Songs for Kids Foundation at The Troubadour Jan. 30. Tickets can be purchased here.
