Louis C.K. Takes the Forum for Two Nights

Before one could even write about Louis C.K. playing one night at the Forum, he went and added a second. Arguably one of today’s most respected comedians, this man has hilariously commented on everything from the stage to the screen and continues to succeed at everything he decides to do. His style isn’t for daytime TV. He’s not a family friendly type who’ll make families laugh with Blue Collar comedy either. Instead, Louis C.K. doesn’t shy away from the more delicate and universal topics and he finds the light, ironically, in the darker side of comedy and that’s what made him, his projects and his continuous stand-up career one of the most celebrated today.

Like many comedians, Louis’ start came with writing material for shows like “The Chris Rock Show” and “Late Show with David Letterman” in the early ‘90s. He shortly transitioned to the stage and started to gain momentum as a stand-up comedian. Joining everyone from Marc Maron to Dave Chappelle on stage at the world-famous Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip, it was clear that this man was going places and it was the small screen that he called home; first with an HBO show in ‘06 and then, of course, with his award-winning series on FX called “Louie.” Once “Louie” hit, it pushed him further into the spotlight and more and more people started piling onto his bandwagon. This allowed him to be the first comedian to sell out Madison Square Garden not once but three times on one tour in ‘15. While he likely isn’t setting out to do the same with his two L.A. shows, no one will be shocked when the tickets are hard to find.

Comparable to the late Richard Pryor and George Carlin not only in terms of style but also poise, Louis C.K. is already considered to be one of those stand-up comedians for the books. He’s part of that elite group that goes on to be timeless and for that reason alone his shows in L.A. cannot be missed.

Louis C.K. plays the Forum July 10 and 11. Tickets can be purchased here.
