Migos Deliver On Highly-Anticipated New Album ‘Culture’

On the heels of the success of their hit single, “Bad and Boujee”, which is currently the number one song in the country, Migos’ newest album, “Culture”, delivers more hits that validate the rap trio not only in the hip-hop game, but talented musicians in general. They cross several cultures while still embracing their Atlanta roots.

Fans have already accredited Quavo, Takeoff and Offset, the three gentlemen who make up Migos, as a group to watch after their previous projects introduced hits like the popular summer anthem “Handsome and Wealthy”. The single, “Look At My Dab”, created a movement that was seen in various cultures from a professional football player dancing after scoring a touchdown to a group of children during a milestone birthday party.

And if that wasn’t enough, actor Donald Glover, who also has a rap persona called Childish Gambino, saluted Migos during his Golden Globe acceptance speech for Best TV Series, musical or comedy. He thanked them for making and releasing “Bad and Boujee”, a single he described as being “the best song ever.”Drake also validated the group when he did his own version of their song “Versace” from one of their previous projects.

Aside from these endorsements, Migos are completely capable of selling albums and creating a buzz themselves. Still, they added a few other musical heavy hitters to the album as well. Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz,  DJ Khaled, Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert are just some of the talented artists who make an appearance on the project. But it doesn’t end there. The producers for the album like 808 Mafia, Metro Boomin, Murda Beatz, and even Zaytoven are all-stars in their own right and arguably, a huge part of what will make the project a success.

Migos doesn’t waste any more time and come in with their unique sound in the first song called “Culture”. It is followed by “T-Shirt”, “Call Casting”, and the now infamous “Bad and Boujee”. Another song title to note is “Kelly Price”. And while the R&B singer of the same name is not featured on the track, Travis Scott is as they brag about making a woman, “sing like Kelly Price.” The trio ends their album with the final song, “Out The Way”.

Migos has proven that they have come a long way since their handful of mixtapes and albums. A sure sign of that, is the idea that DJ Khaled introduces the new project and declares, “They tried to play us. They played themselves. This is intro, for all you boys that doubted The Migos, you played yourself!”

Culture” is available on Apple Music Jan. 27.
