‘Stranger Things,’ ‘The Handmaid’s Tale,’ Barbra Streisand to Take the Stage at PaleyFest L.A.
Fans of some of the top television shows will have the opportunity to have the ultimate viewing experience and to interact with some of their favorite actors of the small screen when the 35th Annual William S. Paley Festival in Los Angeles returns to the Dolby Theatre March 16-25, 2018. 12 panels will take place throughout the nine-day event, during which the actors and creators of various shows will appear to discuss their programs and watch episodes along with their loyal viewers.
A highlight of PaleyFest L.A. 2018 is sure to be the “Stranger Things” panel, the festival’s grand finale event that is to take place on the evening of 3/25. While the full list of actors attending this panel have yet to be announced, it has been confirmed that Emmy winner Elisabeth Moss will be at the panel for her hit Hulu series “The Handmaid’s Tale” (3/18) Joining her will be her co-stars Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Samira Wiley, Alexis Bledel, Max Minghella, Madeline Brewer, Ann Dowd, O-T Fagbenle and Amanda Brugel, along with producers Bruce Miller, Warren Littlefield. With the premiere of second season of the series set for April 25, it’s highly likely that fans will be treated to a sneak peak.
HBO has been a juggernaut for television these past two decades, but this year they will only have one show participating in PaleyFest, “Silicon Valley,” the comedy series following a nerdy computer programer (Thomas Middleditch) and his friends. Middleditch is set to attend the panel on March 18, along with his co-stars Kumail Nanjiani, Martin Starr, Zach Woods and Amanda Crew, as well as creator Mike Judge and executive producer Alec Berg.
Despite the waves made by streaming services and premium cable in recent years, network television will be front and center at this year’s PaleyFest. “The Big Bang Theory,” still a massive hit for CBS after 11 seasons, will have its panel on March 21 with stars Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik, Melissa Rauch and creator Chuck Lorre. Along with them will that evening will be the stars of BBT’s spinoff series “The Young Sheldon.”
“Will & Grace,” the groundbreaking NBC sitcom that left the airwaves after eight seasons in 2006, returned this past fall for a ninth season to the delight of fans old and new. Stars Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally and creators David Kohan and Max Mutchnick will be sure to detail their journey in resurrecting the series when they take the stage on March 17.
Freddie Highmore and his colleagues will be on hand March 22 to discuss “The Good Doctor,” the ABC medical drama that is already a hit in its first season. Seth MacFarlane and company will be on hand to discuss their Fox sci-fi comedy “The Orville” on March 17. The great Allison Janney will be in attendance along with Anna Faris and their co-stars for the “Mom” panel on March 24.
Other panels to look forward to are “Supernatural” (3/20), “Queen Sugar” (3/24), and “Riverdale” (3/25). PaleyFest L.A. 2018 will kick off on March 16 with “An Evening with Barbra Streisand.” The event will focus on the multi-talented icon’s career in television.
