Betty Who Will Bring Her Electro-Pop Energy to the House of Blues

Somebody loves you and it’s Betty Who! Betty Who will be performing at the House of Blues in West Hollywood on Oct. 29 as part of her “High Society Tour.” The Australian electronic-pop musician, who has recently made a big name for herself in the music industry, will debut songs off of her new album, “Take Me When You Go,” which was released Oct. 7.

Born Jessica Anne Newham, Betty Who is a classically-trained musician, having played the cello since the age of four. She is self-taught on piano and guitar and started writing songs at age 14. It was while attending the esteemed Berklee College of Music she met producer Peter Thomas, and the two began collaborating. Over the years, the two developed Betty Who’s signature sound, a fusion of indie and electro-pop. She debuted her single “Somebody Loves You,” which struck the attention of many fans and critics and made them recognize Betty Who as an artist to watch. The song reached number one on Billboard’s Dance/Club Play Songs chart, inspiring many remixes of the hit to surface soon after.

Betty Who’s debut EP “The Movement” was released in April 2013, and had incredible success online. Her electronic singer-songwriter sound landed her a major record deal at RCA Records. Independent blogs and magazines raved over the album, calling it “euphoric” and “spine-tingling.” Elle magazine called it ”your next pop obsession.” Taking ‘80s influenced sounds and mixing them with contemporary trends, Betty Who fuses a unique blend of inventive and eternal sounds. Not to mention she has a great voice, which mixes well with the electronic backing beat.

Her second EP “Slow Dancing” was released in April 2014, and the single “Heartbreak Dream” also received a good following. “Take Me When You Go” is her most recently released album, and has already received positive reviews. With her new album fresh in the mind of fans, Betty Who will play the new set of songs for the first time ever for her L.A. fans, along with other favorite hits.

Betty Who will be performing at the House of Blues on Sunset Blvd. on Oct. 29 with openers Joywave and Great Good Fine Ok. Tickets can be purchased through LiveNation.
