Queens of the Stone Age will Rock the Forum with a Very Special Halloween Event

Wrapping up their “The End of the Road” tour, Queens of the Stone Age will bring their distinct brand of heavy rock to The Forum on Oct. 31 for a very special Halloween extravaganza that includes a haunted house, costume competition, trick-or-treating and a special appearance by The Suicide Girls, among other surprises. The band will headline the grand, spooky bash with a lineup that includes an array of artists such as JD McPherson, Nick Oliveri’s The Uncontrollable, and The Kills.

With their wryly dark and weighty sound, it’s incredibly fitting for Queens of the Stone Age to headline a Halloween show. Originally hailing from the California desert and having formed in 1996, the straddles the line between heavy metal and alt-rock. Choppy, aggressive guitar riffs couple with lead singer Josh Homme’s simultaneously honeyed and rough vocals to create an endearingly unique sound. The influence of different musical genres deliriously swerves through each track, making it refreshingly difficult to pin down a definitive style. There is also a sense of sly comedy dwelling beneath their heavy and seemingly serious music. Songs like “Feel Good Hit of The Summer” and their smash hit single “No One Knows” drip with faint hints of dry, dark humor.

The band seems to have never succumbed to the pressure of altering their sound and style to fit a more commercially acceptable mold. They march forward with a rare and valiant brand of confidence, never feeling the need to clunkily or desperately change with the times. They stay true to the original sound that made them great in the first place, and that is an increasingly rare and admirable feat.

So, get yourselves ready for an incredible concert at The Forum on Oct. 31. With a band like Queens as the headliner, there really doesn’t seem to be a better way to spend Halloween.
