The Presets Check Yo Ponytail Tour Finale Explodes at The Regent

Preset your calendars and Check Yo Ponytail, because The Presets are finishing off their American Check Yo Ponytail Tour at The Regent on Nov. 15. The native Aussie electropop slash dance disco duo will be backed by LE1F, Antwon, Frankie Chan, and Chela here in Los Angeles, before wrapping up and heading back to Australia for a few more dates.

The pair is notable for consistently headlining the disco pop scene in Australia over the last ten years. Since their inception, they have released three albums including, “Beams,” “Resets” and “Pacifica,” and are in the studio currently working on their fourth. Over the years, they have toured extensively as the support group for Daft Punk and have remixed music for Kings of Leon, Lenny Kravitz, and Silverchair among others.

Julian Hamilton and Kimberly Moyes, the duo that make up The Presets, surprisingly come from a background of classical music. The long-time friends met at Sydney’s Conservatorium of Music, where they studied classical music by day and experimented with electronica by night. Their combined knowledge of musical production, sensory overload, and mastery of composition has provided the perfect recipe for ingenuity and longevity in the disco throwback music scene of the 2000’s.

Besides their obvious catalog of No.1 hits and feel-good tracks, The Presets also know how to put on a good show. Their 2011 Coachella performance has been hailed as one of the best live sets to be presented at the festival. It may not be 110 degrees at The Regent November 15, but The Presets’ set promises explosive energy and a fantastic light show and a lot of sweaty dancing.
