‘V/H/S: Viral’ Thriving in Select Theaters Nov. 21

Anthology horror film ‘V/H/S: Viral’ will be making its way into select theaters on Nov. 21, after initially being released through Video on Demand on Oct. 23, just in time for the haunted season.

The majority of the film follows a group of teens, a cast made up of entirely new faces, who land themselves in the position of being the next internet sensation; hence, viral. “V/H/S: Viral” is about the fame-obsessed teenagers who, after seeing a police car chasing a whacko ice cream truck, and naturally cannot resist the urge to tape it with their up-to-date phones. These kids don’t have a clue as to where curiosity once led the cat as they are determined to find the next viral video of this day and age.

They find out the hard way that not everything is as harmless as it may appear, whether the police are in or out of the picture. Another video surfaces, this time to the kids’ dismay they are watching themselves, and as the stars they are next to face death.

Reminiscent of the storylines in “Final Destination,” this film features segments covering “a deranged illusionist who obtains a magical object of great power,” “a homemade machine that opens a door to a parallel world,” “teenage skaters that unwillingly become targets of a Mexican death cult ritual,” and finally “a sinister, shadowy organization that is tracking a serial killer.” All angles put together make “Viral” into the compendium horror that can still be enjoyed despite Halloween having come and already gone.

V/H/S: Viral will hit select theaters on Nov. 21.
