Beer’s Finest Invade L.A. For Bock Fest

Brewers, foodies and run of the mill beer appreciators will be excited to take in the sights, sounds and obviously the tastes at this year’s annual Bock Fest on January 25.

It’s a celebration of beer, simple as that. Held at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel Los Angeles “Biltmore Bowl,” this years festivities are shaping up to be better than the last. Seasonal beers and local favorites will be on tap as Rappers Delight serves up the musical portion of the day. Those willing to shell out the extra bucks will even take a piece of the day home with a special souvenir pint glass mug. So beers all day, Rappers Delight on the stage and for some, a mug – sounds like a great way to spend a Sunday.

Spend the afternoon with like minded individuals who know their way around a glass of beer at this year’s Bock Fest where aside from the drinking, the world’s best will compete for championship. Fireman’s Brew took the title two years in a row, but was beat out by Spaten Munich last year. It’s up in the air what brew will be crowned the winner for 2014.

Judging the show is a wide array of talent from scream queens to authors. First up they have the “Tailgate Guy” from the Food Network, Jay DiEugenio. After that they get more into the beer aficionados with Michael Bowe – a force to be reckoned with when it comes to homebrewing, beer/wine expert Ryan Ludwick, and guru Jeff Musial. Rounding out the panel of judges is LA’s own Adam Bell and actress Brooke Lewis.

The competition aside, this is an event for beer fans. The general ticket offers not only admission but unlimited tastings for $45. Step that up to $85 and receive the souvenir pint glass, unlimited pours and early entry into the event. So those who like to drink are heavily encouraged to head out and take it in. The hotel is also offering up rooms for those traveling for Bock Fest. Even those who might be from the area but who may not be okay to drive home should look into staying the night as well. Always remember to drink responsibly.
