Alan Jackson Brings Country to Nokia Theatre at LA Live

With a career that’s spanned almost three decades, more awards than one can count and over a dozen albums – one would think Alan Jackson would be done. One would be wrong. He’s not close to being done and is playing Nokia Theatre on February 27, 2015.

There are certain names to know in the Country realm for those who are right between the traditional ways of Conway Twitty and the pop of Taylor Swift. There’s George Strait, Garth Brooks, and Alan Jackson. He’s one of the men to own the charts within that genre in the ‘90s, after the turn of the century and into today. No one would’ve ever guessed the boy that grew up on solely gospel would grow up to dominate the Country realm. Thankfully for him and his fans, a friend took it upon himself to introduce a young Jackson to the likes of Hank Williams Jr. and Gene Watson. It obviously had a huge effect on the young man and steered him towards a musical path.

Like many he started a band in high school, but didn’t make his move until much later in life after his and his high school sweetheart moved to the place all Country hopefuls do; Nashville. It was there that he worked in the mailroom at The Nashville Network. One thing led to another and Jackson became the first artist signed to Arista’s Nashville branch in 1989. That same year he released his debut single, “Blue Blooded Woman.” It didn’t make him a breakout star, but 1990 was more successful as “Here in the Real World” went to number three. That hit went on to be the title of his debut album.

Today Jackson has 15 albums, two Grammys, close to 30 Country awards and more singles than one can count in a single sitting under his belt. That’s why fans are excited to get to see him live at Nokia Theatre at LA Live. With a career spanning over two decades, his setlist is bound to be chalked full of hits and favorites, especially the always catchy tune, “Chattahoochee.”
