‘McFarland, USA’ Set to Premiere at El Capitan

Before it hits theaters, “McFarland, USA” will have its big premiere at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California on February 9, 2015.

Movie premieres are the norm in the Los Angeles area. Whether they are at the Nokia Theater in downtown, the Arclight on Sunset or the El Capitan – it’s always a star-studded event. “McFarland, USA” is under the Disney umbrella so that explains the location of its premiere. Disney fans can expect a good, clean, feel-good movie. Judging from the synopsis, that’s exactly the case.

Kevin Costner stars as a cross country coach in small town USA. He takes a cast of underdogs and transforms them into champions. This is a plot that has been many times, and it is very similar to George Lopez’s latest release, “Spare Parts.” Both are also based on true stories. However, it’s Costner and 2015 is gearing up to be his comeback year. He’s doing it in a more low- key way than Michael Keaton did with “Birdman,” but riding the family drama wave. He has this movie and “Black or White” dropping right before “McFarland, USA.”

Costner will be one of the many stars to hit the red carpet the night of the premiere. He’ll be joined by his co-stars including Maria Bello. Most will know her for her role as Kevin James’ wife in both “Grown Ups” and “Grown Ups 2.” Younger fans will be excited to see the man behind the voice of Phineas from Disney’s hit animated series “Phineas and Ferb,” Vincent Martella is also in the movie and expected to walk the carpet as well.

Movie premieres are a good chance to head out to see famous faces. Those interested in seeing the stars of “McFarland, USA” are in luck because its premiere is in a fine location. The El Capitan is located right at the heart of Hollywood, right across the street from the Hollywood and Highland Center. So fans can see stars like Costner and then cross the street to shop and dine. The stars are expected to start arriving between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

The “McFarland, USA” premiere will be held at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on Feb. 9, 2015. The film will be released on Feb.20, 2015.
