Get Inside Amy Schumer at The Orpheum

Have you been inside Amy Schumer? If not we suggest you tune into Comedy Central April 21, when new episodes of the hit show will be back on the air. Until then, you can get your fill of Schumer on her “Back Door” tour this summer, which luckily for your sanity will be making a stop at the Orpheum Theatre on March 27.

Schumer was born on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in 1981. Before she was selling out comedy clubs she was known as ‛Class Clown’ and ‛Teacher’s Worst Nightmare’ upon her graduation from South Side High School in 1999.  Amy started pursuing stand-up back in 2004, when she first started performing at The Gotham Comedy Club. The spotlight first hit Amy Schumer three years later when she placed fourth in the fifth season of the popular NBC show Last Comic Standing, then second in Comedy Central’s “Reality Bites Back”. Schumer became known for her unapologetic sense of humor and candid discussions about sex and relationships, and soon after received her own “Comedy Central Presents” special. Currently she is the creator, star and executive producer of her own Emmy-nominated television show “Inside Amy Schumer” that premiered in April 2013 to the network’s highest season premiere ratings that year.

Amy has been keeping busy and this comedy juggernaut shows no signs of slowing down. Most recently, Schumer penned and will be starring in her first film “Train Wreck” alongside SNL alum Bill Hader, which is set for release in July 2015.  Amy does nothing if not keep fans on her toes, and that’s the reason alone Angelenos should take the opportunity to catch this bit of comedic fresh air.

Don’t Miss Amy Schumer at the Orpheum Theatre March 27. Tickets available here.
