Duran Duran, Karen O, and More Will Perform The Music of David Lynch Films at The Ace Hotel

Cult director, David Lynch has left an enormous impression on the American film and television psyche. From his early work in “The Elephant Man,” to science fiction epics like “Dune,” to classics like ‘Blue Velvet’ and “Twin Peaks,” Mr. Lynch has done it all. The man, the myth, the legend, and his music will finally be celebrated April 1st at the Ace Hotel.

The way David Lynch uses music and sound creates layers of cinematic depth, and this has helped to set his films apart from directors. Whether it is the use of synth and space in the theme song for ‘Twin Peaks’ or ‘Blue Velvet’s’ airy and haunting soundtrack, there is simply something special happening with the music. The David Lynch Foundation has chosen its landmark 10th year anniversary to pay tribute to “The Music of David Lynch.” The night will examine the use of the ambient songs and sounds the director has become famous for in his films. The proceeds from the event will benefit the non-profit organization, Foundation to bring Transcendental Meditation to at-risk populations suffering with PTSD. If that was not enough to get you moving, there will be special guest performances by some of Los Angeles’ favorite acts. Duran Duran, Karen O, Jim James of My Morning Jacket, Moby, Sky Ferreira and Steven Drozd and Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips are all set to take the stage to pay homage to Lynch’s work.

The evening is guaranteed to be a night to remember, so get out, and do some good while enjoying an amazing show! Who knows, maybe you’ll be able to belt a few bars out with Karen O.

The Music of David Lynch will take over the Ace Hotel Theatre April 1. Tickets available here.
