Little Dragon Brings the Fire to Greek Theatre

Swedish electronic band Little Dragon has been making listeners around the world dance since their debut in 2007. Still riding high off the success of their latest record “Nabuma Rubberband,” Little Dragon is bringing their show stateside. Fans of the quartet can catch them live at the Greek Theatre.

Made up of front woman Yukimi Nagano, drummer Erik Bodin, bassist Fredrik Källgren Wallin and Keyboardist Håkan Wirenstrand, the four have a long history together. First meeting in 2006, Yukimi was in her freshman year of high school and befriended seniors Fredrik Wallin and Erik Bodin over their mutual love of music. Soon they were getting together to jam out after class and listen to the likes of De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest. The group began to record their original work soon thereafter, Yukimi’s passionate in-studio tantrums garnered the nickname “Little Dragon” that coincidentally ended up becoming the group’s official name. Little Dragon’s first release was composed of their singles “Twice”/”Test.” By the following year, the group had officially signed with Peacefrog Records and released their self-titled debut in August 2007. Their follow up albums, 2009’s “Machine Dreams” and 2011’s “Ritual Union” helped gain the band international notoriety and radio play. During this same time, Little Dragon was invited by Gorrillaz creator, Damon Albarn to collaborate on their 2010’s cult classic record “Plastic Beach,” their contributions can be heard on the tracks “Empire Ants” and “To Binge.” Following appearances on the Escape to Plastic Beach tour and their own recording sessions, Little Dragon’s latest record, “Nabuma Rubberband” hit fans in early 2014 and has proven to be the group’s most successful endeavors.

Little Dragon have captured the ears of music lovers from around the world with their unique brand of electronic indie rock. Never dull and full of innovative use of sound, Little Dragon is a must see for anyone in a sonic rut.
