Comedy Central’s ‘Broad City’ Set to Take Over The Troubadour

The duo behind the hit show “Broad City” are bringing their comedy stylings to The Troubadour in West Hollywood on Dec. 6 with not one, but two shows that night. The show has garnered a lot of praise by critics and fans alike since its debut in Jan. 2014.

Upright Citizens Brigade alums Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer won audiences with their web series that went by the same name as their show that ran from 2009 to 2011. It soon caught the attention of Amy Poehler who not only appeared in the web series finale but also went on to take the pair to Comedy Central with the show as executive producer.

Now they’re a hit and in the ranks of other series on the network like Workaholics and Key and Peele. The difference is that is it is a female take on everything from dating, work and the love between best friends that can sometimes verge on creepy; yet it remains endearing.

Its first season debuted strong, and continued to fare well the rest of its run. Poehler is a comedic powerhouse who helped land some major guest stars, SNL alums like herself, Rachel Dratch and Fred Armisen to Amy Sedaris that make the show exciting.

When “Broad City” goes live, the girls like to make it a once in a lifetime experience. Past shows have been titled, “Get Drunk with Broad City” and “Broad City’s Bucket List.” Fans that were lucky enough to get tickets to this LA event are in for a treat, because it’s not going to happen again.

The Troubadour show was rescheduled from an earlier date and all tickets for the December 6 shows will be honored that night. The duo will be performing an early show at 7:30pm and a late show at 10:30pm.
