Light Up the Holiday Season at The Getty Center

Once again, the Getty gets patrons in the holiday spirit with their beautiful holiday lights display along with a full on holiday experience. Starting on Nov. 29 and going through Jan. 3, every Saturday patrons can stroll through the Central Garden at The Getty Center and experience a night of holiday bliss. The Getty Center opens at 9 a.m., however if you want to hunt for the special holiday lights, be there at 5:30 p.m. for a majestic experience, and then head to the Museum Entrance Hall to get your free cup of hot cider!  During the special holiday season, the doors will stay open late (until 9 p.m.) every Friday and Saturday. And remember to share your experience through Twitter with the hashtag #GettyLights!

While you are there, don’t forget to check out the spectacular Rubens: The Triumph of the Eucharist exhibit (through Jan. 11) and the photos in the Josef Koudelka: Nationality Doubtful exhibit. (through March 22) on display.  There are also daily tours where you can see the beautiful architecture, the schedule of daily art, and gardens.  And while you are there, you must stop by the amazing store that is inside the museum entrance where you can find unique holiday gifts for your loved ones with its broad selection of jewelry, books, apparel and more.

The Getty Center is located at 1200 Getty Center Dr, Los Angeles and is open Tuesday-Thursday and Sundays from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 10 a.m.-9 p.m.  Admission is free and parking is $15, however there is free parking after 5 p.m. Monday-Friday for special events and after 5 p.m. on Saturdays.

Not only is this one of LA’s hottest holiday experiences of the season, but it is free.  Take advantage of this amazing event before it is too late!
