Cinespia Kicks Off Summer With Hollywood Forever Movie Nights

It’s not traditional to watch a movie on the lawns of the dead, but it wouldn’t be Hollywood if Cinespia did anything different. Every year fans can head out to Hollywood Forever Cemetery for a night of classic feature films, and this year is no different as they’re bringing a little something for everyone. Okay, so attendees aren’t watching on gravestones, but rather near them on the grassy field otherwise known as Fairbanks Lawn. It’s there that movies are screened, food is eaten and fun is had.

Togas will likely be worn by the lot coming out for the first event of the season on May 9. Cinespia will start things out with the ‘70’s classic that helped further cement John Belushi in the pop culture sphere, “Animal House.” Fans are welcome to wear togas to celebrate, but are also encouraged to pack a picnic and even bring BYOB. Wine and beer are allowed, but please keep the spirits at home. In addition, before the sun sets and right after the credits roll, fans are welcomed to enjoy the DJ that will be spinning as well.

The rest of Cinespia offers up something for the sci-fi lovers with “Close Encounters,” something for the herbal lovers in “Dazed and Confused” and a true blue favorite everyone can enjoy, “Vertigo.” Being in the heart of Hollywood, they have a reputation to uphold by presenting movies that are not only well loved, but also continuously celebrated.

This is the perfect date night for movie lovers and for those who are looking to put a spin on the traditional dinner and a movie night out. Why take her to some run of the mill theater when one can woo her under the stars with a classic? Dating sites may want to start offering some kind of two-for-one-deal to these events. So pack a basket, grab a date, a friend or get a group together and enjoy a movie outside in the heart of Hollywood.

Cinespia kicks off their season at Hollywood Forever on May 9 and commences Oct. 31. Tickets can be found here.
