Lucky Peach Presents Eating Out Loud With David Chang and Guests

True foodies are already familiar with Lucky Peach, the quarterly food and writing journal launched by Momofuku’s chef David Chang along with Peter Meehan and Chris Ying. Just as Lucky Peach combines great food with great writing so will their first event in Los Angeles, Eating Out Loud. The one-of-a-kind event will consist of two parts: a series of readings at the Million Dollar Theater, followed by a food reception at the historic Grand Central Market.

The first portion will offer readings from some of the most celebrated names in food and food writing including David Chang, Roy Choi, Kim Gordon, Jonathan Gold, Amelia Gray and Eric Wareheim. Guests will then walk over to the Grand Central Market for food pairings that bring together Grand Central Market’s food vendors along with some of L.A.’s favorite cooks. Some of the participating chefs to look out for are Lydia Clarke from DTLA Cheese, Brian Hoffman from Belcampo Meat Co., Micah Wexler from Wexler’s Deli, Sara Kramer and Sarah Hymanson from Madcapra, Kris Yenbamroong from NIGHT+MARKET, Jessica Koslow from Sqirl, Brooks Headley from Superiority Burger and Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo from Animal Restaurant. There will also be complimentary beer and wine throughout the reception. The other Grand Central Market vendors will be open for business as usual.

Tickets for this event are $45 and include admission to the readings at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m.), the reception, complimentary beer and wine along with a one-year subscription to Lucky Peach. All food will be available for purchase. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Zero Foodprint, a non-profit project co-founded by Chris Ying of Lucky Peach. Zero Foodprint works with restaurants to reduce and offset their carbon emissions.

Eating Out Loud takes place on Feb. 2 at Grand Central Market and Million Dollar Theater. Tickets can be purchased using this link.
