Fringe Monday Nights at Public House Offers Comedy the Avant-Garde Way

Los Feliz is one of the most intriguing neighborhoods in the Los Angeles area. An artsy vibe intertwined with a rapidly growing hipster scene and it’s the only place comedy fans are going to want to be on Monday nights. Because settled right between The Study and Starfish Sushi sits Public House and at the start of each week they have their Fringe Monday Nights and it’s a riot for those who like their laughs a little on the odd side.

This is comedy with a twist. Gone are the brick walls Jerry Seinfeld brought to primetime and in are fringe backdrops. A ton of wigs adorns performers and the crowd is almost as distinct as the people are on stage. Of course, no one shines as much as the show’s host, JC Coccoli. An appreciator of everything fashion, MTV’s “Hey Girl” and a comedian herself, JC is a Jill of all trades that takes command every week.

The show’s bonus is that attendees can walk in free but they also enjoy treats and a couple of brews all on the house. Comedy clubs typically have a two-item or two-drink minimum, but at this pub turned comedy hot spot on Mondays, it’s a bargain. Free laughs, food and beer. All those who put on this delightful show ask is that people give what they can when their trusty little bucket gets passed around to continue to pay the comics.

Settled in the heart of Los Feliz, a neighborhood overflowing with rarities that come in all shapes, sizes and forms, Fringe Monday Nights at the Public House are just the events to handle all that obscurity.

Fringe Monday Nights at Public House is every Monday at 10 p.m. More info can be found here.
