Sting and Peter Gabriel Band Together for an Epic Summer Tour

Two men who made a sizeable impact in music history are joining forces for a summer tour that will leave music fans weak in the knees. Sting and Peter Gabriel have both had major success fronting legendary bands as well as impressive solos careers and now they’re teaming up on their “Rock Paper Scissors” tour.

So cool, he doesn’t even need a last name or a real one for that matter. Sting has been making music since he hit the airwaves with The Police nearly four decades ago. Now a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame thanks to his time fronting the band known for making everyone sing the name “Roxanne,” Sting’s name is synonymous with success. Not many can leave a band as popular as The Police and survive, but he managed to and hasn’t slowed down yet. Come the late 90s and early 00s, his sound took on a new age approach and no one seemed to mind as “Desert Rose” climbed the charts. Fans can expect to hear that along with Police signatures such as “Every Little Thing She Does is Magic” and the always emotional “Every Breath You Take.”

Fans can only wish on every star for the next couple of months that Sting and tour mate Peter Gabriel decide to pull out a duet, at least for the L.A. show. Fellow Englishman and a legend in his own right, Gabriel was introduced to the world as the leading man of Genesis in the mid-70s. Around the same time that Sting wanted to spread his wings and detach from The Police, Gabriel was also deciding to fly solo. He found huge success in ’86 with his album “So” and the following year as well when MTV audiences couldn’t get enough of his “Sledgehammer.” Those who already have their tickets are keeping their fingers crossed in the hopes that Gabriel ends the night with “In Your Eyes.”

Sting and Peter Gabriel’s “Rock Paper Scissors” tour comes to the Hollywood Bowl Sept. 17 and Sept. 18. Tickets can be purchased here and here.
