U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Weeknd to Take Stage at Bonnaroo 2017

Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival offers up some oldies, some goodies and everything in between for summer spring festivalgoers. Manchester, Tenn., has been the home of this event since 2002. This year, from June 8-11, the 700-acre farm site boasts new upgrades including permanent bathrooms, water stations and showers, making the normally scorching Tennessee sun a lot more bearable.

The lineup this year is topped with some old school acts that many people will never again get the chance to see, alongside young artists at their peak. U2 takes the first spot on the poster. Though maybe not the first choice for the younger generation, veteran Roo’ers will no doubt be psyched to catch a glimpse of this legendary rock band. Red Hot Chili Peppers are another legacy act that will be appreciated by music fans who grew up listening to these Angeleno rockers and those just now sliding into their newfound hippie lifestyle. The Weeknd will be there in support of his latest drop “Starboy” and Chance the Rapper will also take the main stage to showcase his Chicago-style happy hip-hop.

Other notables on the list include Major Lazer, Flume, Lorde, The XX, Travis Scott, Cage the Elephant, Marshmello, The Head and The Heart, Big Gigantic, Glass Animals, Future Islands, Tory Lanez, Tove Lo, Crystal Castles and Umphrey’s McGee. ’Roo was also one the first festivals to include legit, high-caliber comedy acts as headliners. Stay tuned to the website for announcements regarding this year’s comedy bill.

Given the longevity that Bonnaroo has seen, and the aforementioned newly built permanent additions, it’s safe to say the organizers have everything on lock when it comes to infrastructure. The camping options range from your standard to various VIP and RV choices. The interior of the event boasts everything from a “Broo’ers Festival” featuring dozens of craft breweries, to a giant metal pig that will feature an actual pig being smoked within it. Other amenities will include a Christmas-themed club, yoga sessions and a silent disco. Bonnaroo 2017 promises to be another great extended weekend of music, comedy, art and freedom.

Bonnaroo Music + Arts Festival will take place in Manchester, Tenn. June 9-12. Tickets are here.
