NYC Restaurant Week Features 400 Restaurants and Exclusive Summer Tasting Series

For the 25th anniversary of NYC Restaurant Week, there are almost 400 restaurants participating across the five boroughs of New York City. Thankfully, the so-called Restaurant Week is actually almost a month long, from July 24 to Aug. 18, giving food lovers plenty of opportunity to dine at these restaurants.

Participating restaurants may offer a $29 prix fixe lunch on Monday-Friday (and Sunday brunch) or a $42 dinner on Sunday-Friday. Among the 400 restaurants are hotspots such as Tao and Beauty and Essex, as well as celebrity chef-owned restaurants including Daniel Boulud’s Bar Boulud and DBGB Kitchen and Bar, Michael White’s Michelin-starred Ai Fiori, April Bloomfield’s The Breslin, Masaharu Morimoto’s Morimoto NY, and Tom Colicchio’s Craft Restaurant.

Among the participating restaurants are also 12 original participants from the first NYC Restaurant Week in 1992 including Le Cirque, The Russian Tea Room, and Tribeca Grill. There are 33 new participants joining the ranks this year, including Cut by Wolfgang Puck, Fowler & Wells, Lupulo, The Tuck Room and Wallsé.

The $42 prix fixe menu at Scarpetta is an opportunity to try chef Scott Conant’s famous spaghetti. Mission Chinese food will be offering a $29 lunch menu or $42 dinners. Whether you want tacos at Empellon Taqueria, sushi at Neta, or wiener schnitzel at Wallsé, there is no shortage of dining options to choose from during this period. Do not forget to enroll your American Express credit card and get $5 cash back when you dine at one of the participating restaurants during NYC Restaurant Week.

New this year are the four NYC Restaurant Week Summer Tasting Series events. These events feature an exclusive tasting menu at a restaurant for $75 per person with wine pairing. Ticket proceeds will go to support local NYC charities including City Harvest, Citymeals on Wheels, and Food Bank NYC. The events will be held at Bâtard Tribeca (Lower Manhattan) on July 24, Buttermilk Channel (Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn) on Aug. 1, Maiella (Long Island City, Queens) on Aug. 6, and Amada (Lower Manhattan) on Aug. 14. Tickets to the Summer Tasting Series can be purchased here.

NYC Restaurant Week takes place from July 24-Aug. 18.
