PaleyFest Fall TV Previews Gives Small Screen Fans Big Screen Previews

Television fans on both coasts will be hitting the PaleyFest Fall TV Previews for an up close and personal look at the upcoming season. The event features premieres, screenings and panel discussions. It has hosted reunions for fan favorites like “The Wire.” Cult series like “The Walking Dead,” “Louie,” and “Fargo” have broken news at the festival. This year’s PaleyFest Fall TV Previews will run from Sept. 6 through 16. It will feature events for shows like “Shameless,” “The Mindy Project,” “Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders,” and Netflix’s “Fuller House.”

The ten-day festival will also host events from Fox’s “Family Guy,” the satirical news show “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee,” and the first new Star Trek series in over ten years “Star Trek: Discovery.”

The Paley Center for Media, which used to be called the Museum of Television & Radio and the Museum of Broadcasting, was founded by William S. Paley in 1975. It has since become a cultural institution in New York and Los Angeles.

“In only a few short years, PaleyFest NY has quickly solidified its place as New York’s must-attend fall entertainment event,” Paley Center for Media President and CEO Maureen J. Reidy said in a statement. “The Paley Center for Media is thrilled to host such an incredible and diverse line up of programs.”

The 11th annual PaleyFest Fall TV Previews Festival began Wednesday evening at The Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills. The event kicked off with a screening of Showtime’s “Shameless” season 8 premiere. The viewing was followed by a panel discussion with cast members William H. Macy, Emmy Rossum, Jeremy Allen White, Ethan Cutkosky, Shanola Hampton, Steve Howey, Emma Kenney and Cameron Monaghan. The panel was moderated by Stacey Wilson Hunt of Vulture magazine.

This year’s panels will also include conversations with Mindy Kaling, Lea Michele, Nathalie Kelley, Edie Falco, Bobby Moynihan, Seth MacFarlane, Adam Scott, Nick Kroll, John Larroquette, Ava DuVernay, Heather Graham, Cedric the Entertainer, and Ashley Judd.

On Sept. 7, Univision will hold a reception, screening and panel for “El Chapo.” Stars Camila Jimenez Villa, Marco de la O, Humberto Bustos, and Silvana Aguirre will appear. The panel will be moderated by Univision anchor Ilia Calderon.

On Sept. 8, Hulu will hold a screening and Panel for “The Mindy Project.” Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, Ed Weeks, Xosha Roquemore, Beth Grant, Fortune Feimster and Matt Warburton will appear. Buzzfeed’s Jarett Wieselman will moderate.

On Sept. 9, ABC will hold a screening and host a panel for “The Mayor.” Brandon Micheal Hall, Lea Michele, Yvette Nicole Brown, Bernard David Jones and Marcel Spears will be in attendance.

The network will also show screenings of “The Good Doctor” and “Ten Days in the Valley.”

On September 11, will host a screening and panel for “Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders.” Edie Falco, Gus Halper, Miles Gaston Villanueva, Heather Graham, Lolita Davidovich, Carlos Gomez, Dick Wolf and Rene Balcer will sit on the panel. NBC will also show a screening of “The Brave.”

On September 12, CBS will hold a screening and panel for “Me, Myself & I.” Bobby Moynihan, John Larroquette, Jack Dylan Grazer, Jaleel White, Sharon Lawrence, Dan Kopelman, Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor will sit at the panel, which will be moderated by Jim Halterman of TV Guide Magazine. They will also show screenings of “Wisdom of the Crowd,” “SEAL Team,” and “9JKL.”

On September 13, FOX will host a screening and panel for “The Orville.” Seth MacFarlane, Adrianne Palicki, Penny Johnson Jerald, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, Halston Sage, J. Lee and Chad L. Coleman will sit on the panel.

On September 14, Netflix will host a screening and panel for “Big Mouth.” It will feature Maya Rudolph, Nick Kroll, Jessi Klein, and Jason Mantzoukas.

The PaleyFest Fall TV Previews will run from Sept. 6 through 17 at the Paley Center for Media in both L.A. and New York. Tickets can be purchased here.
