Wine Spectator Hosts the Ultimate New York Wine Experience

Wine lovers should not miss the ultimate wine tasting presented by Wine Spectator. The New York Wine Experience will take place on October 19-21 with Grand Tasting events featuring all 90+ rated wines or a full weekend package filled with seminars and special wine paired lunches.

Wines that will be poured at the Grand Tasting sessions are all rated 90+ by Wine Spectator. The heavy-hitter list includes champagnes like 2006 Charles Heidsieck Brut Rose Champagne, Krug Grand Cuvee 163rd Edition, and Perrier-Jouet Grand Brut Champagne. Guests can taste 2002 Chateau Lafite Rothschild Pauillac, 2014 Louis Latour Corton-Charlemagne, and many more. A number of ports and sweet wines will also be available, from 1997 Fonseca Vintage Port, Giesen Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough Late Harvest, 2013 Royal Tokaji Aszu 6 Puttonyos Gold Label, and 2006 Chateau d’Yquem Sauternes. General admission tickets to the Grand Tasting are $375 per person while VIP admission is $425 per person with early admission at 6:30pm.

Guests with deep pockets can also opt for the ultimate experience with the Weekend Package. The package, priced at $2495 per person, includes the seminars on Friday and Saturday, VIP Critics’ Choice Grand Tasting on Thursday evening, wine-pairing lunches on Friday and Saturday, and the Grand Award Banquet on Saturday.

Weekend Package ticket holders start off the weekend with the Critics’ Choice Grand Tasting on Thursday, followed by two full days of programs on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the morning starts at 9 am with a welcome followed by a Veuve Clicquot champagne tasting, Wine Spectator’s Top 10 of 2016 wine tasting and four vintage ports from 1977. There will be a gourmet lunch paired with wines from Wine Australia. More wine tasting seminars will follow lunch, and in the evening guests can attend another Grand Tasting session. Between the seminars on Saturday, there will be a Chef’s Challenge featuring Jose Andres, Emeril Lagasse, Danny Meyer, and Mario Carbone. It will be followed by a luncheon paired with wines from Chianti Classico. On Saturday afternoon, guests will taste Wine Spectator’s 2016 Wine of the Year, while the evening will close out with a champagne reception and the Grand Award Banquet.
