Celebrate Jonathan Gold’s 101 Best L.A. Restaurants at ‘The Gold List’ Launch Party

Jonathan Gold, the Pulitzer Prize-winning food critic at Los Angeles Times, is one of the most highly regarded food critic in the country. His list of the 101 Best Restaurants in Los Angeles has a cult following of food lovers who aims to try every single one each year it was released. Luckily, Angelenos can try many of them all in one night at the Los Angeles Times The Gold List launch party. The Gold List party celebrates Jonathan Gold’s 101 Best Restaurants list each year with an intimate evening filled with great food and the opportunity to mingle with Jonathan Gold and some of the city’s best chefs.

This year’s event will feature tastes from 30 restaurants of Jonathan Gold’s 101 Best Restaurants List. The event’s restaurant lineup, as is the 101 Best Restaurants List, showcases the diversity of the Los Angeles culinary scene. At the party, there will be bites from high-end restaurants including Spago, CUT, Maude, Providence, Trois Mec, and Shibumi. Given Jonathan Gold’s love for the ethnic and casual restaurants, guests will naturally also sample Thai food from Jitlada, Sichuan food from San Gabriel Valley darling Chengdu Taste, Filipino food from Rice Bar, and Ethiopian food from Meals by Genet. Prepare your tongue for the Nashville hot chicken from Howlin’ Ray’s and the refined Mexican food of Taco Maria.

The food will be accompanied by wines poured by Ascension Cellars, Beekeeper Cellars, Lumos Vineyards, Windrun Wine, Talley Vineyards, and more. There will be cocktails featuring Knob Creek whiskeys and Sipsmith Gin.

Tickets are $135 per person and the event will be held from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at The MacArthur (formerly Park Plaza). Guests must be over 21 years old. Dedicated fans can also take this opportunity to rub elbows with the restaurant critic, Jonathan Gold, himself. The event also promises live entertainment and special surprises.
