San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival Showcases San Diego’s Culinary Talents

San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival is bringing back its week-long culinary festival to San Diego from Nov. 12-19. The multi-event festival will showcase the culinary talents in the San Diego area and surrounding vicinity combined with some of the world’s best wines and spirits.

There are many events to choose from all week long. There will be a seminar on Mexico’s spirits from tequila to mezcal to bacanora and stool. An oyster and Sauvignon Blanc pairing will be held at Ironside Fish + Oyster. Learn how to identify wines during a blind tasting session with Master Sommeliers. The Culinary Icons dinner will feature the chefs of Relais & Chateaux properties from California, New Mexico and Colorado. The dinner will be paired with wines from Louis Latour and more.

Because San Diego sits so close to the gateway of Mexico’s Baja region, on Wednesday, Baja Wine + Food will host an expedition from San Diego to Valle de Guadalupe in Mexico for wine tasting and tours and a private culinary experience with Mexican celebrity chef Javier Plascencia. The Golf Classic invites players to a tournament complete with six culinary stations along the 18-hole course, six drink experiences and challenges complete with prizes. On Saturday evening, head to the rooftop at Jsix for an Asian Night Market presented by Stella Artois. The party comes complete with karaoke and cocktails.

The Tasting at SommCon on Friday gives wine lovers another opportunity before the Grand Tasting to try over 100 wineries from around the world. The Grand Tasting will be held on Saturday on the Embarcadero Marina Park North and will feature 60 of San Diego’s top chefs along with 150 wine, beer and spirit purveyors. VIP tickets include early entry at 11 a.m., access to the VIP tent with exclusive restaurant and wine tastings such as Justin Winery, live music and seatings in the shade. Guests can purchase tickets to individual events or choose among a variety of packages.
