Hyde Sunset Kitchen + Cocktails

Last month, cutting-edge hospitality and restaurant leaders, SBE Group, opened its newest venture on the Sunset Strip called Hyde Sunset Kitchen + Cocktails in West Hollywood, where the old XIV building was once a-poppin’. Sam Nazarian, founder, chairman and CEO of SBE is the mastermind behind this new endeavor and is also one of several prominant names that have helped mark another noteworthy notch in the Hyde brand belt. Alongside Nazarian is Chris Crary from Bravo’s “Top Chef” season nine, headlining as executive chef. Famed photographer Tyler Shield’s mysterious and sexy images adorn the restaurant walls, while designer Waldo Fernandez created the cozy and chic interior design, and L.A.-based contemporary artist Gregory Siff painted obsessive serial graffiti portraits in key places throughout the restaurant.

Of course, Hyde Sunset Kitchen + Cocktails wouldn’t be an elite SBE establishment without the many notable hotshot celebrities who have graced this place with their presence, flooding the restaurant in its opening week and beyond. Amber Rose, Jaime Foxx, Miguel, Stacy Keibler and Rick Fox have imprinted the lounge and eatery as a high-profile institution that will easily follow in the footsteps of its other Hyde predecessors.

The SBE Group’s history in Los Angeles is a force to be reckoned with on the nightlife scene. The powerhouse team has created a plethora of award-winning grand nightclubs, casinos, restaurants, hotels and lounges that have set the tone for the many L.A. denizens of luxury and iniquity. Its staggering current roster includes Greystone Manor, The Emerson Theatre, The Sayers Club Hollywood, The Abbey Food & Bar, No Vacancy, and XIV Sessions. Although they are Los Angeles-based, the SBE Group has branched out nationwide to stake their claims in other major urban centers, such as Las Vegas, Miami and New York. The Hyde brands began with the opening of Hyde Lounge in Hollywood in the mid-2000s, and has since expanded to Hyde Bellagio, Hyde Lounge at Staples Center, Hyde at American Airlines Arena, and Hyde South Beach.

Hyde Sunset Kitchen + Cocktails is the latest addition to the Hyde family, but second to the Hollywood area. It wasn’t created just to be a pretty place for pretty faces, but constructed to serve savory tapas treats that fulfill varying palates. From fried chicken sliders, veal tartare and green bean carbonara, to craft cocktails, dessert wines and beer, Hyde’s well-versed approach provides an exclusive atmosphere without the pretentious reality.

Whether you are a regular SBE patron or fresh flesh on the nightlife scene, Hyde Sunset Kitchen + Cocktails brings together its clientele in an austere and elegant setting that is sure to become part of SBE’s historic lineup and make a long-lasting impression on the Strip and its oh-so hip inhabitants.
