Ne-Yo is Back with His Rhythm & Blues at the House of Blues

American R&B singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer, and actor Ne-Yo will perform in Los Angeles at the House of Blues on October 15 and 16. Ne-Yo’s big break came as a songwriter in 2004 when he wrote “Let Me Love You” for singer Mario. The successful release led to an impromptu meeting with Def Jam and the signing of a recording contract. Ne-Yo released his debut album “In My Own Words” in 2006, which debuted at number one of the US Billboard 200.
Ne-Yo has music in his blood, both his Chinese-African American mother and African American father were musicians. After his parents divorced, his mother moved him to Las Vegas as she thought there would be more opportunities for her to support her family. Ne-Yo then first fell into the music industry known as “Go Go,” a member of an R&B group named Envy. Ne-Yo’s stage name came courtesy of producer Big D Evans. Evans says Ne-Yo sees music the way the film character, Neo sees the matrix.
Fast forward to 2014 and Ne-Yo is on tour in promotion of his sixth album “Non-Fiction.” The Ne-Yo: Live in Concert Tour starts in San Francisco on October 12th and ends in Chicago on November 2nd. “Non-Fiction” is set for release on November 11th this year. The new album’s lead single, “Money Can’t Buy” features artist, Young Jeezy. The album is a departure from his recent diversion into dance music and the bulk of the music is back to Ne-Yo’s R&B roots.
Ne-Yo’s live shows are said to be a great place for interaction with the crowd as these shows are all about the seduction, which Ne-Yo pulls off effortlessly in most settings. The smaller House of Blues venue should allow even more intimacy more so than a big arena setting. Ne-Yo definitely entertains concertgoers on all fronts with well-choreographed dance, special effects and brilliant talent backing him up.
Let Ne-Yo love you at the House of Blues on Sunset Strip October 15 and 16.
