The Comedy and Magic Club Presents ’10 Comedians’

Do you love to laugh? Then come check out the Comedy and Magic Club’s hilarious event, 10 Comedians. The show runs every weekend, both Friday and Saturday nights, and features ten stand-up comedians who will make the trek to Hermosa Beach worth it.

The Comedy and Magic Club is best known to Los Angeles as the home of Jay Leno’s weekly stand-up show, which he has been performing at every Sunday for 35 years. Leno is a good friend of the club’s owner Mike Lacey. Lacey opened the club in 1978, providing comedians with a home and nurturing some of the best stand-up comedy artists. The venue has featured the biggest names in comedy among Leno, including other stars such as Jerry Seinfeld, Ray Romano, Jim Carrey, and Kevin Nealon. Famous magicians like Harry Anderson have also taken the stage at the club. Actor Paul Reiser referred to the Comedy and Magic Club as “the old Yankee stadium to comedy,” as the club has made its home in Los Angeles.

Inside the venue there is a museum of comedy legends that have performed in the club. One of the materials they have on display is “The Puffy Shirt” from Seinfeld, in honor of Jerry Seinfeld’s first headlining paid gig in L.A., which took place at the venue. Other artifacts include Ray Romano’s wardrobe from an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond, and other materials from comedians such as Robin Williams, Adam Sandler, and Charlie Chaplin.

It’s no wonder that the Comedy and Magic Club has become known throughout Los Angeles as a top comedy venue. There is immense diversity in each show from the big-name headliners, to magic and mime acts, to regular weekly shows such as 10 Comedians. 10 Comedians has been around for many years, and features the club’s favorite comedians at the moment. This includes everyone from house names to young, rising stars. The stand-up show includes ten stand-up acts, all with fresh, new material each week. The most fun thing about this show is you never know who’s going to be performing during the set you’re attending!

Tickets can typically be purchased the night of the show, though it is always recommended to  buy them ahead of time, just to guarantee a seat in case the show is sold out. Tickets can be purchased online, directly through the Comedy and Magic Club’s website. Tickets are $20 per person for general admission. All seats are first come first serve, so it’s best to come to the event as early as possible. Food and drinks are available with a two-item minimum.
