Jimmy Gnecco Will Play The Viper Room Every Friday in January

Jimmy Gnecco and Friends will hit The Viper Room‘s stage on several occasions in January. Known as the powerful lead singers of beloved rock band Ours, Gnecco has been praised for his multi-octave vocal range and emotional style. His songs, such as Gravity, retain an element of sweet sorrow due to the lyrical content, yet the instrumentals create an upbeat, acoustic rock feeling that listeners will easily fall in love with.

The Heart was Gnecco’s first journey as a solo artist, following nearly two decades as the front man of Ours. The title of the album says it all. Expect emotionally laced songs to be played from this debut solo album. The Heart has garnered positive reviews from critics, once again hailing his outstanding vocal power and thought-provoking songwriting.

Though this is his first solo album, Gnecco, a music industry veteran, was prepared to tackle this new career endeavor. On what distinguishes his personal sound from Ours, Gnecco said speaking to Cryptic Rock, “I chose for it be different…When I went into making the solo record I very purposely wrote songs that I imagined in my head that it’s going to sound really good with just acoustic guitar or the piano, or I pick songs that are best suited for that.” Indeed, Gnecco was successful. The Heart hits the nail on the head, offering a more stripped down sound of rock. “On the solo record I wrote songs that I felt this song would best be served without Static (guitarist of Ours) on it or certain kind of drums or bass.”
