Craft Spells Will Weave Their Magic at the Echoplex

Stockton, California residents, Frankie Soto and Justin Vallesteros of  the indie darling group Craft Spells, have a magical mix of 80’s synth-pop with poignant, yet simple lyrics. These wistful tunes make them the band of choice for thoughtful lovers looking for romantic tracks to breathe life back into their souls. Their emotional perspectives and smooth riffs will enchant the audience at the Echoplex on Feb. 27.

The music world was first introduced to this new band of dreamy indie-rock back in 2011 with the release of their first album “Idle Labor”. The perspective of the lyrics paired with the seemingly primitive ringing guitars and drum programming made the music even more enchanting, like an aural love poem. Their perspective and personalities were immediately soaked up by fans and critics alike. However, the release of their EP, “Gallery” in 2012 was widely overlooked, and this was followed by a two-year musical hiatus.

Craft Spells’ dormant period ended with the release of their second full-length album “Nausea” in June 2014. It took a move to San Francisco, a move back home, and some soul searching, to cure the writers’ block that prevented thousands of fans from getting their hands on anything new from the group. This two-year break served the duo well, as the music has a much more mature and sophisticated sound.

Craft Spells weaves its magic at the Echoplex on Feb. 27. Tickets can be purchased here.
