L.A. Based Blues-Rocker Beth Hart to Play El Rey Theatre
She’s a staple in the background of some of the best television shows to date, but Beth Hart is heading off the screen and onto the stage when she brings her sounds to the El Rey on February 14, 2015.
Before making it somewhere with her music, she did what many artists did in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s and went on “Star Search.” After multiple times with Ed McMahon, she finally won the Female Vocalist competition in 1993. Other notable acts to come from that show are Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Beyonce.
It was during 1999 though, when Hart got in the game. Her single “LA Song (Out of This Town)” from her second album “Screamin’ for My Supper” went to number one in New Zealand and sat in the top 10 in the US on both the US Adult Contemporary and Billboard Adult Top 40 Chart. It even went on be featured in the final season of “Beverly Hills, 90210.”
Between then and now, she’s remained busy, having released a handful of other albums that have fared very well. “My California” housed the title track that was used as the capstone for the sixth season finale of Showtime’s “Californication,” and she’s even managed to do some very critically acclaimed collaborations as well. Most notably being 2013’s “Seesaw” with Joe Bonamassa. They’d worked together a couple years prior and while “Don’t Explain” did well, it was surpassed by “Seesaw,” which went on to earn Hart and Bonamassa a Grammy nomination in 2014.
When she hits the El Rey, she’ll be joined by opener Monty Byrom, a fellow Blues Rock musician. They’ll both be bringing their A-game to Wilshire Blvd. Byrom introducing Hart’s fans to his ways, and Hart with her signature moves. Fans will be delighted if she busts out any of the following, her first hit “LA Song,” “Sister Heroine” which she did with Slash or one of her most recent, “Bang Bang Boom Boom.”
Beth Hart plays the El Rey on Feb. 14, 2015. Tickets can be purchased here.
