Milo Greene Bring Their Tour to El Rey Theatre
A new album under their belt and a U.S. tour to embark on. 2015 is looking so good so far for Milo Greene as they prepare to play the El Rey on Feb. 19.
There is an inside joke about Los Angeles that everyone within its vast confines trying to make it in this business is from somewhere else. Actors come from small towns and wait tables, musicians from here and there take day jobs that allow them to play shows. All the while they sit and miss the place they first called home. That’s not so much the case for Milo Greene. A superfan can tell if any one of the five members took a midnight train out to the City of Angels, but as far as the band’s concerned – it was born and bred in LA.
Robbie Arnett, Graham Fink, Andrew Heringer, Marlana Sheetz and with Curtis Marrero make up this quintet and are still pretty new to the scene having just dropped their self-titled debut a few years ago in 2012. Some time during then and now they spoke about their unique sound on CBS News and Sheetz said the following, “Originally when we started this band we wanted to create music that we could potentially see being placed in movies and TV. We really love scoring and that’s how we wanted the music to sound. Very cinematic — which is kind of why we like to call it cinematic-pop.”
Every record an artist releases needs to feel like there’s some growth. With their latest, “Control,” they stepped away from the folk a bit and decided to be more upbeat. New record means new tour and that’s how Milo Greene will be spending the beginning of spring. Starting in Santa Barbara and heading north, the band will delight fans with new songs like “Lie to Me” and “Parents House.”
Joining Milo Greene at the start of the tour is Zella Day. She’s rising in the ranks quickly thanks to her current EP, “Hypnotic” and songs like “No Sleep to Dream.”
Milo Greene will be alongside Zella Day at the El Rey on Feb. 19. Tickets can be purchased here.
