Papa Roach and Seether Team Up to Take On The Wiltern
They’ve done it once before and they’re doing it again. Papa Roach are hitting the tour trail with their old pals in Seether for what’s expected to be an explosive rock tour that stops by The Wiltern on February 6, 2015.
Papa Roach has been a mainstay in the rock realm since they blasted onto the scene in 2000 with their wildly popular debut “Infest.” Before that, they were run of the mill high school students looking for something to do in Vacaville, California. Lead singer Jacoby Shaddix and former drummer Dave Buckner bonded over music on a football field once day and chance meetings here and there led them to the other members. Since then they have come a long way since performing in and losing their school’s talent show performing Jimi Hendrix’s “Fire.”
“Infest” was a major label debut bands dream of. Not only did it pump out memorable songs like “Last Resort” and “Broken Home,” but also it ensured them a longstanding career.
Their most recent being album is 2012’s “The Connection.” Good news though, they’re on the road because they have a new one this year, “F.E.A.R.,” which lead single “Warriors” dropped last October. Joining Papa Roach on this tour is Seether. These two are no strangers to one another. They were tour mates in 2008 along with Stained on “The Illusion of Progress Tour.”
Seether hails from South Africa and formed the same year Papa Roach hit it big. However, it wasn’t managed to fly under the radar until they had their break a short time later in 2002. A couple years after that they released their biggest record to date, “Disclaimer II,” which had the hit “Broken” with Evanescence’s Amy Lee. From that point it was only up as they went on to be award show staples taking home statues from the MTV Africa Music Awards, Billboard Charts and Canadian Hot 100. Most recently they dropped “Isolate and Medicate” in the summer of 2014.
Rock fans are in for a night of adrenaline based performances as these bands never fail to bring it when they hit the stage, so The Wiltern should be no different.
Papa Roach and Seether play The Wiltern on Feb. 6, 2015. Tickets can be purchased here.
