Juliana Hatfield Three to Reunite at The Roxy
Stephanie Hernandez
Juliana Hatfield has been producing her special brand of rock since the late 1980s, and fans can rejoice in knowing she isn’t done yet. After decades in the business and over a dozen solo albums, Juliana is back with her latest “Whatever, My Love” from her group, The Juliana Hatfield Three. Fans can catch the group at The Roxy Monday March 16.
Juliana’s collection of work is long and varied. Ranging from her early days in indie rock bands like the Blake Babies, The Lemonheads, and Some Girls to her solo work and collaborative efforts, Hatfield has been a force to be reckoned with since day one. A born and bred Bostonian, Hatfield has always found a way to incorporate music into her life from covering Rush songs in her high school choir to studying at the Berklee College of Music. This multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter began back in 1987 and in 1993 formed the fan favorite group, The Juliana Hatfield Three. After only one album together, “Become What You Are”, the group disbanded and Juliana began her path towards becoming a solo act. Today, just over 21 years later, the Three have saddled up again for the follow up to their 90’s classic with the release of “Whatever, My Love.” In late December, both Stereogum and Consequence of Sound named the album, “One of the most anticipated albums of 2015,” an accomplishment not to be taken lightly.
With the buzz surrounding her new album and the reuniting of the Juliana Hatfield Three, fans can expect quite a show from this seasoned veteran. It’s time to relive those 90’s memories and make some new ones with Juliana.
