Muse, Florence and the Machine and Walk The Moon Prepare to Rock KROQ’s Weenie Roast
Radio shows are a dime a dozen. Every huge market has them, but when it comes to KROQ, they pull out all the stops to make sure theirs are the most-talked about station. This year’s Weenie Roast is bound to be no different when it comes to impact as years past. With some of the biggest names in rock and alternative right now on the bill, the World Famous station is throwing the party of the summer right at the start.
One of the leading rock stations in the country, KROQ has never let down their listeners when it comes to booking their big shows. In the past, they’ve had the likes of Linkin Park, Foo Fighters and the Beastie Boys. This year they’ll add to their awesome lineage with a little pop rock, a little indie and a whole lot of rock. Singer-songwriter James Bay is on the lighter side, but thank to “Hold Back the River,” everyone’s’ attentions will be held throughout his set.
An all day event that brings out couples, families and friends – there’s truly something for everyone. The younger attendees will be screaming for Warped Tour staples All Time Low, as well as the always entertaining Panic! at the Disco. While they’re hollering for them, the 20-somethings and beyond will be waiting for bands like Muse and Florence and the Machine to take the stage. In the middle and artists like Of Monsters and Men and Walk The Moon, who are power hitters live.
Nothing has been announced, but Weenie Roast is usually known for having a thing or two up its sleeve. Those heading out should keep an eye and ear out for a special surprise. In the past, Dave Grohl has popped up for a set, so one never knows what to expect.
Being at Verizon Wireless and starting during the day, prepare for some heat and pack safe. Take that sun screen, some bottled water and enjoy the sun while it lasts and then cool off as the sun sets.
KROQ’s Weenie Roast is at Verizon Wireless May 16. Tickets can be purchased here.
