Nick Kroll & Friends to Create Big Laughs at Largo

This year at Playfest, the annual TV festival celebrated the gems of Comedy Central, and Nick Kroll stood out for numerous reasons. His incessant political jabs were one of them, but it was also the fact that he was the only one on the panel that didn’t actually have a show. His “Kroll Show” was all wrapped up by that time, so it was more about reminiscing for him. While his hit show has ended, the 37-year-old actor still has a lot on his plate, like his stand-up career that’s going strong and hitting L.A. in late June.

Before he was one of the leading faces of comedy, he was writing the jokes behind the scenes. He wrote for years before breaking out on his own for shows like “Chappelle’s Show” and MTV’s “Human Giant.” Along the way, he was doing stand-up and creating a cascade of characters that would later inhabit his “Kroll Show.” In between writing and getting his own show though, he gained a sturdy footing in homes across the world when he landed on FX’s “The League.” This follows a group of friends and their fantasy football league is about to head into its last season. Fans will have one last romp with Kroll’s cynical Ruxin this fall. In the mean time and after, they’ll have to just catch him on the road.

Kroll’s stand-up features many of those characters fans have gotten to know thanks to “Kroll Show.” Other than playing guys like Bobby Bottleservice and Gil Faizon, the comic also does the usual when he dives into stories of his past. Hopefully he still tells the one about a basement party and chips. If not, he likely has a lot more hysterical tales up his sleeve.

When he heads to Largo later this month, he’ll be joined by some friends. They’re TBA as of now – but Kroll is a popular guy. One can take a wild guess and hope that some of his “League” costars show up like Jonathan Lajoie who always has a song to sing, and Stephen Rannazzisi, or maybe Kroll’s girlfriend Amy Poehler will be on deck to do some improv? The possibilities are endless and the only way to know who shows up is to head out.

Nick Kroll and Friends hit Largo June 20. Tickets can be purchased here.
