Kygo Takes Over The Greek With Surprise Guests

Kygo has proven age has nothing to do with clear-cut talent, as he is one of the leading EDM acts. He spent much of his summer doing the festival circuit, entertaining fans everywhere from Las Vegas’ Life is Beautiful to Lollapalooza in Berlin. Taking a break from huge lineups, Kygo played a solo show at the Greek Theater this month and delighted a packed house by playing live and having a very special guests join him.

Kygo shot to fame through YouTube after his remix of Ed Sheeran’s “I See Fire gained momentum and was viewed over 50 million times, but that can’t compare to hearing it live. The set was filled several other with remixes and covers from The Weeknd’s “Often, to Seinabo Sey’s “Younger” and M83’s “Wait.” Fans were able to see that Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll is more than a DJ when Kygo took to the piano throughout the night. It is rare to see someone in that respect do such a thing, but Kygo’s talent is why this 24-year-old Norway born singer is able to headline a place like the Greek. While fans loved every second Kygo was on stage, the crowd went insane when Oscar winner John Legend walked out to join him for a cover of “Sexual Healing.” Of course, one of the most recognizable tracks to date, Legend and Kygo’s rendition would have made the late Marvin Gaye proud. Other guests included Conrad Sewell performing “Firestone and Parson James on “Stole the Show.”

Kygo played the Greek Theatre Oct. 17.
