80s Prom Party Transforms The Fonda Into Something Totally Rad
The 1980s is still cherished by many for its fashion and music. It was the “all neon everything” decade that came after the disco-induced ‘70s that bred the MTV generation and was really the beginning of pop culture as we know it today. Today shows like ABC’s hit “The Goldbergs” delivers a weekly dose of what life was like back then but one can only do so much vicarious living. For those who want to be fully emerged, there’s the 80s Prom Party happening in Hollywood.
This is a chance to either relive that magical prom night back in 1980-something or just pretend you were actually alive to have gone. Either way, it’s all about dressing up in fashion inspired from that era, which means bright colors, layers upon layers of taffeta, glam for the metal fans and big hair.
Guests are invited to dress their best, dance all night and be swept away by two ‘80s cover bands that will take the stage throughout the night to pump out hits from artists that reigned supreme like Prince, Duran Duran and the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
The Fonda on Hollywood Blvd. made sure that prom-goers get the true prom experience sans the limo ride with 15 of your closest friends. Everyone will go home with an official prom picture. Anyone who has ever Googled “80s prom pictures” will know what that means: awkward stances, teased hair and awesome memories. This night isn’t only about good times, but also a good cause. All of the proceeds in ticket sales will go to Noah’s Bark Animal Rescue to help with veterinary costs, food for the animals and shelter for all their four-legged friends.
The 80s Prom Party is Feb. 6 at The Fonda. Tickets can be purchased here.
