Janet Jackson to Show Why She’s Unbreakable at Hollywood Bowl
Sometime during 2015, hearsay began about Janet Jackson resurfacing and returning to music. Not exactly ready to head to Vegas like some other pop stars, she announced a new album and a major world tour. Reality bites sometimes, though, and the “Nasty” girl had to change her January plans when her health wasn’t in tip top shape. With some rest and relaxation, the new date has been set and it’s going to be worth the wait.
Coming from a royal family of music, Ms. Jackson has been regarded a treasure since childhood when audiences first got to know her on “Good Times” as the adorable Penny. Soon enough she was following in the steps of her Jackson 5 brothers and breaking out on her own when she began releasing music in the ‘80s. Right in time for the birth of MTV, Janet took the world by storm and continued to do so throughout the ‘90s and early 2000s. Over 160 million albums later, she’s decided to step away from the limelight for a while and take a break. Fans understood why but were eager for her return.
The wait came to an end when she dropped “Unbreakable” last October and announced a world tour by the same name. The last time Janet Jackson passed through L.A., she left fans breathless as she performed all night long without missing a beat or a step. On point, she brought out all the hits like “Rhythm Nation,” “Together Again,” “What Have You Done for Me Lately” and “Scream.” With a new album out, she tosses in a few of the tracks like “BURNITUP!” but does keep it heavy with the songs fans have come to know and love over her lengthy career.
Janet Jackson brings her “Unbreakable World Tour” to the Hollywood Bowl May 21. Tickets can be purchased here.
