Bryan Adams Will Make Music Fans ‘Get Up’ at The Greek

Bryan Adams, the Canadian singer-songwriter who captured the hearts of the world back in the 1980s, still has a very active career despite being in the music industry for four decades. His new album “Get Up!” was released on Universal Music in October of 2015. Adams is currently gearing up for an international tour of the same name and will headline at the famous Greek Theater.

“Get Up!” features nine new songs by Bryan Adams with four acoustic reprises at the back end of the album. Adams got production assistance on this album from Electric Light Orchestra’s Jeff Lynne, and like so many of his other albums, it was co-written with his longtime collaborator Jim Vallance. The opening song on the album “You Belong to Me” was released as the first single. A simple pop song that is given just a bit of a retro-country twang using guitars, “You Belong to Me” ranks as one of those quintessential tracks in Adams’ discography. An accompanying video was shot for the song and it is every bit as stripped-down as the musical arrangements featuring a grayscale Adams playing his guitar alongside a single dancing woman.

Bryan Adams became a household name in 1984 when he released “Reckless,” his fourth studio full-length album. It was the follow-up to his breakthrough into the mainstream music scene, “Cuts Like a Knife.” “Reckless” featured what is arguably his best-known hit, the nostalgic anthem Summer of ’69. Also included on the album were other well-performing tracks like “Run To You,” “Somebody” and “Heaven.” Adams made a return to the top of the charts with his 1995 single, “Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?” The flamenco-influenced ballad was featured in the film “Don Juan DeMarco” and earned the singer-songwriter an Oscar nomination. It was later included on the 1996 album “18 til I Die.”
