Ellie Goulding’s ‘Delirium World Tour’ Brings the Dance Party to the Staples Center

The Staples Center hosted Ellie Goulding’s “Delirium World Tour” as it rolled through town and it was one entertaining show that included all of her hits, a new-comer from NYC and a pair of siblings from where the Hobbits roam.

Before Goulding took the stage, the crowd got a chance to bask in the glow of New York’s own Bebe Rexha. As she delivered her hip-hop meets R&B style, the singer easily made new fans with zesty songs like “Me, Myself & I.” Soon after her exit, Broods added to the already energetic vibe. The sister-brother pair from New Zealand were a great complement to the headliner’s mainstream show as their dream pop traveled through the arena. Some in the audience sang along to songs like “Bridges” and “Sleep Baby Sleep” while others spent their time doing what many today do, Snapchatting their experiences of the night. Making some new fans by the end, Broods exited the stage to a gracious applause as Goulding followers patiently waited for her to appear.

Goulding has played all over the world, having toured with Katy Perry and Taylor Swift but it was her turn to step out and own the night. And she did just that. It’s been six years since this UK singer first blew the world away and this performance was no different. Goulding stepped onto the stage in a casual shorts and Doc Martens ensemble; a look as perfected as her vocal presence. She opened with “Aftertaste” and “Something in the Way You Move” and turned the Staples Center into a sing-along party. Goulding showed off her guitar skills and the crowd went wild, proving she’s got more than a set of gorgeous pipes. Where some pop acts rely on circus-style staging, Goulding kept things simple and showed that when one can sing, such antics just aren’t necessary. Before the night was over, she pulled out “Lights” and “Burn” and wound down the night with “Anything Could Happen” and “Love Me Like You Do.”

Ellie Goulding’s “Delirium World Tour” took over the Staples Center on April 8.
