Sia Announces ‘Nostalgia for the Present’ Tour With Support From Miguel and AlunaGeorge

It has been a long five years since music fans across the world have had the chance to see pop star Sia perform on a nightly basis but the wait is over. After a pair of show-stopping performances at Coachella 2016 that featured pre-recorded cameos from Kristen Wiig, Paul Dano, Tig Notaro and “Chandelier” video star Maddie Ziegler, the Australian singer-songwriter has announced a full tour. Titled “Nostalgia for the Present,” she will be joined by R&B sensation Miguel and indie electro-pop duo AlunaGeorge while traveling the country.

After fronting her own band Crisp in Australia and singing for British electronic band Zero 7, Sia got her start in the mainstream pop world as an ace songwriter, penning tracks for Rihanna and Beyoncé. She simultaneously released albums on her own under both her full name (Sia Kate Isobelle Furler) and her current moniker. In 2014, Sia released “1000 Forms of Fear,” which featured her first smash single “Chandelier.” She followed up that effort with 2016’s “This Is Acting,” an album that has spawned two singles, “Cheap Thrills” and “Alive.”

Miguel has been performing music since the age of 13 and has been compared to R&B luminaries like Babyface and Prince. With a slightly alternative take on traditional R&B music, his latest album “Wildheart” was lauded by critics and embraced by music fans. The album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart with one single featuring rapper Wale, titled “Coffee,” being released.

AlunaGeorge is gearing up for the release of their follow-up to “Body Music” and second full-length studio album, “I Remember.” Consisting of singer Aluna Francis and instrumentalist/producer George Reid, the band is currently signed to Interscope Records. They recently released a new, reggae-tinged song and video for “I’m In Control,” a record that features assistance from Jamaican rapper Popcaan.
