Snowglobe Music Festival Returns to Lake Tahoe for New Year’s Eve Weekend

Snowglobe Music Festival celebrates the end of 2016 in winter fashion with a new layout and bigger spread in South Lake Tahoe to showcase the hottest electronic artists on the circuit today along with fireworks and snowboard and ski demos. Last year, Snowglobe presented more than 50 performers on three stages during three nights, This year, Snowglobers should be prepared for even more. “The festival size will be increasing,” the organizers announced, “and dramatically altering its layout.” Regardless, they say it will continue to be “the chilliest festival ever.”

Those who want to stay in the know can keep up with news via Snowglobe’s Twitter. Lake Tahoe Community College will host 2016’s New Year’s Eve event. But the rest of the town also has plenty of things to do including bars, restaurants, and galleries; add to that the five 24-hour casinos in Tahoe and the plethora of after parties, and you have some kind of music festival.

Snowglobe’s lineup is will appeal to the discerning ear of the millennial music-lover. EDM fans will enjoy current genre chart-toppers The Chainsmokers, Flume, Major Lazer and Odesza. Other electronic artists include Big Gigantic, R.L. Grime, Classixx (DJ set), The Knocks and Sofi Tukker. Hip-hop certainly has its place in this mountain environment as well. Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, D.R.A.M. and Azizi Gibson will all perform throughout the weekend.

Lake Tahoe offers many hotels and resorts, with an array of boutique lodgings in the South. 968 Park Hotel is one such spa and resort at the foot of Heavenly Mountain.
