The Shelters at Troubadour | Dec. 12

Swedish indie-rockers The Sounds celebrate the 10th anniversary of the acclaimed album “Dying to Say This to You” alongside guests Zipper Club and My Jerusalem.

How the Grouch Stole Christmas at The Novo | Dec. 14
The Living Legends crew are a group of indie hip-hop veterans featuring some of the biggest names of the underground, including Eligh, Murs, and The Grouch. They bring their 10th annual “How The Grouch Stole Christmas Tour” to The Novo alongside Eligh’s new group grand, Tapestry, and Dilated Peoples member Evidence.

Mako at Resident | Dec. 14

Rooney at El Rey Theatre | Dec. 14
L.A. rockers Rooney have toured all over the world with bands such as Weezer and The Strokes. They’ll return to their hometown for a holiday show filled with pop riffs and and comedy from MC Nick Thune.

Sara Watkins at Troubadour | Dec. 14
Sara Watkins wrote every song on her July release “Young in All the Wrong Ways,” a step forward for the roots-inflected folk-rocker that yielded her rawest, most powerful album yet.

Animals as Leaders w/ Intervals at Mayan Theatre | Dec. 15

Real 92.3 Real Big Holiday Show at Microsoft Theater | Dec. 16
L.A.’s home for hip-hop and R&B presents a massive holiday showcase of some of the genre’s biggest young names. Trey Songz will headline alongside Rae Sremmund, Fetty Wap, Kehlani, D.R.A.M. and YFN Lucci.

Initially formed when Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson was on hiatus from his main band, Chris Robinson Brotherhood has since taken on a life of its own with jangly, psychedelic blues-rock showcased to great effect on the November EP “If You Lived Here, You Would Be Home by Now.”

We Rock With Standing Rock Benefit Show at The Fonda | Dec. 18
The Standing Rock community recently celebrated a victory over the Dakota Access Pipeline project, but the fight is not over.
