On September 5th, Keith Urban will bring Nashville to Irvine at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre on September 5, 2014. As always, Urban will provide his fans with a great taste of popular country music mixed with his unique rock n’ roll-style guitar playing, giving even the most infamous rockers a run for their money. In the hours leading up to the big show, Keith will lend the stage to his friends and fellow country music sensations, Jerrod Niemann and Brett Eldridge as opening acts. In the midst of his Raise ‘Em Up Tour, Urban is expected to perform old favorites as well as current radio hits from his most recent album, Fuse.
The native Aussie is anything but a visitor to the U.S., practically dominating the country music scene for the last fifteen years. After his move to Nashville in 1992, nearly a decade passed before Urban made waves through commercial country music radio. However, Urban’s hard work finally paid off in 1999 with the certified platinum success of his self-titled premiere album, Keith Urban, and hit single, “But for the Grace of God.” He has since gone on to release nine albums, 31 hit singles, and 16 #1 hits, making him one of the most notable performers of his time. His most recent album, Fuse, gave fans the acclaimed and catchy “Cop Car” and his most recent single, “Somewhere in my Car,” while also becoming his fourth #1 album. But perhaps even more impressive, that particular feat made him the first ever male country music artist to debut a chart-topping album in the all-genre charts in the United States, Australia and Canada.
As if racking in # 1 hits and rolling out platinum albums weren’t enough, Keith Urban had to one-up even himself. As a four-time Grammy Award-winner, eight-time Academy of Country Music Awards recipient, three-time CMA Male Vocalist of the Year, and winner of top award honors, such as the People’s Choice and American Music Award, Urban went ahead and listed another remarkable endeavor to his already stacked resume. In June of 2014, the country superstar confirmed that he would be returning as a judge on American Idol Season 14 for his third consecutive year ,critiquing contestants on the show.
Keith Urban has not only lent his musical talents to the world but has also made it a priority to give back to the world. He is the supporter of various charities, including St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, the Grammy Foundation and Mr. Holland’s Opus Fund, to name a few. His annual benefit concert “All 4 the Hall” has raised around $2.5 million for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Urban’s philanthropic efforts, coupled with his entertaining musical capabilities, are easy reasons to secure your spot in Keith Urban’s southern California tour stop. If you’re a fan of Keith Urban, this is a show not to miss.
