Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights Brings Nightmares to Life
Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights returns in September and this year they’re putting together a handful of new attractions that will leave people screaming. For 2015 they have teamed up with some of the most frightening men and women in pop culture to bring horrific mazes based on the best horror that film and television have to offer. First up is “Guillermo del Toro Presents Crimson Peak: Maze of Madness.” “Crimson Peak” won’t even be out until Oct. 16, so that means guests who head to Universal Studios before then get to be some of the first to be freaked out by the director’s gothic romance as this eerie Allerdale Hall mansion takes those who enter into the world of lead character, Edith Cushing.
The next maze on the list is a signature when it comes to horror movies, “Halloween: Michael Myers Comes Home.” “Halloween” was the pinnacle of fear when it came out in 1978 and decades later it’s still managing to make people scream. This maze has guests going through the town of Haddonfield, Illinois to experience the exact moment a then six-year-old Myers stabbed his sister to death. Then they’ll walk into the present to try and survive the maniac.
The “Insidious” franchise is coming to Halloween Horror Nights this year as well with its own maze that will feature some of the film’s most memorable scenes from all three movies; the Lambert’s home to facing the Woman in Black. One brings guests a haunted house, another gives a classic touch and this one plays on the supernatural element of fear.
Lastly, Horror Nights would not be complete without something from “The Walking Dead.” Explore Terminus, stay away from the walkers and feel what Rick and the gang go through on an everyday basis.
These mazes aren’t the only attraction this year. There’s the annual “Terror Tram” as well as a new show put on by “America’s Next Best Dance Crew” winners The Jabbawockeez. Their style has often been called haunting, their moves a little creepy and their white masks – ghostlike. All that said, they’ll fit right into the mix.
Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights opens its gates Sept. 18 and wraps up Nov. 1. More info can be found here.
