Get in the Valentine’s Mood With The Weeknd and Miguel at Power 106’s Crush Concert
As one of the leading stations serving up hip-hop and R&B to the Los Angeles area, it’s not surprising to see Power 106 score some of the biggest names in the game for their Crush Concert Valentine’s Weekend.
One of the most inescapable songs of 2015 belonged to Grammy nominee The Weeknd. His “Can’t Feel My Face” was everywhere from the Victoria’s Secret runway special to being performed bt Tom Cruise’s when he lip synced it on the “Tonight Show” and it became a viral sensation. With that, the singer went from underground favorite to mainstream success when his “Beauty Behind the Madness” went to number one and his singles followed suit. The current king of R&B has played in Los Angeles a number of times over the last few months and he’ll continue to do so as long as fans keep flocking out to see him.
Miguel is another singer set to headline this lovefest. Likened to Prince in many reviews, the L.A. native has been making crowds swoon for almost a decade now with number-one hits like “Sure Thing” and “Adorn” as well as his most recent hit featuring Chris Brown and Future, “Simple Things.” One would think those two would be enough for Valentine’s Day weekend, but Power has more up their sleeves.
Kid Ink blends R&B with hip hop and over the course of four records has made fans by burning up the charts with “Show Me” and “Iz U Down.” Last year he dropped “Full Speed” and that’s exactly how he was living the remainder of 2015. He’s also partnered up with Brown in the past like Miguel, so maybe there’s a chance that he may accompany him on stage during the concert. Even if Chris Brown doesn’t show, it’ll still be a great time with Tory Lanez on the bill. The Canadian rapper has been dropping well-known mixes and taking over the fashion world the past few years, but he’ll be releasing his debut sometime in 2016. Last but not least and representing the ladies of music, Kehlani will be taking the stage with tracks that’ll please like “Raw & True” and “You Should Be Here.”
Power 106’s Crush Concert will bring the romance to The Forum Feb. 12. Tickets can be purchased here.
