Will Ferrell & Chad Smith’s Red Hot Benefit Comedy + Music Show and Quinceanera to Take Over The Shrine
For years, Will Ferrell and Chad Smith have been told how much they look alike. The similarities are uncanny and anyone would likely confuse the two. No telling how long it took for them to come together but a couple of years ago they appeared side by side on the “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” and with that a drum-off was had. Of course, they didn’t let the competition sour what could be and the two spawned a friendship and now a partnership as they’ve banded together to fuse one’s passion for laughter and the other’s knack for music for Will Ferrell & Chad Smith’s Red Hot Benefit Comedy + Music Show & Quinceanera.
A mouthful? Yes, but it’s going to be a night that no one in the city of angels will want to miss out on. First off, there’s Will Ferrell from the small screen to the big screen and then back as a “Saturday Night Live” alum who has been enjoying a successful entertainment career. Will Ron Burgundy make an appearance or perhaps his Ferrell’s Buddy character from “Elf”? That’s up in the air but it has been confirmed that Smith’s band, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, will be on deck to add some rock to the comedic atmosphere. They’ll be tearing it up with signatures like “Suck My Kiss” and “Californication.”
On top of Chad Smith and the guys, DEVO will be on stage as well doing what they do best: rocking out; fans are hoping in those staple red hats. Also, adding to the comedy train will be Jim Gaffigan delivering his take on everything fatherhood entails, as well as Nick Offerman from “Parks and Recreation.” Be on the look out for his wife, Megan Mullally. Fingers crossed she pops out to do a little something-something with him because together those two are in sync when it comes to laughs. Music, jokes and so much more are coming soon.
Will Ferrell & Chad Smith’s Red Hot Benefit Comedy + Music Show & Quinceanera come to the Shrine Auditorium on April 29. Tickets can be purchased here.
